What do I use it for?

I use it as a body moisturiser.

How do I use it?

I use it as it states on the packaging, after a shower. Sometimes I use it before I got to bed, however considering I shower before I go to bed, it’s kind of the same thing. I apply it all over my body starting from the feet, massaging them a little bit if I can be bothered. Then I apply to my legs using a circular motion, torso, arms and the rest rubbed into my hands.

My verdict?

The body lotion is not as thick as I would like a ‘body butter’ to be. I’d say the consistency is more like a thick body lotion, not as liquid-y but certainly not quite as solid or thick as a ‘body butter’. It will keep you moisturised for a couple of days but for nice, hydrated skin I would apply everyday. It won’t cure very dehydrated, scaly skin but it will temporarily improve the appearance of dry skin.

The scent leans more towards the pink grapefruit side. It’s quite refreshing and pleasant if you like the scent of pink grapefruit, as I do. The scent does smell artificial although not grotesquely so. The scent does last during application and it lingers for a short time afterwards. If I apply it after a shower in the morning I will get very slight hints of this throughout the day but it is quite faint.

I love that it sinks in quite quickly. I am able to get dressed after a few minutes without feeling sticky or uncomfortable.

I believe there are four different scents including Peach & Pear (orange), Coconut & Lime (green) and Pineapple & Passionfruit (yellow).

Although the price is very affordable, it does not provide enough moisturisation for me and it’s not the best scent I have experienced.

Review | Schick Hydro Silk Razor

What do I use it for?

I personally only like to shave my legs. For other areas, such as bikini, underarm and eyebrows, I prefer waxing. I did try the razor on my legs, bikini area and and underarm however, found it was only suitable for my legs.

How do I use it? I use this in the shower, as the moisturising serum is water-activated and did not actually realise I had to use a shaving gel as well. The tutorial video on BeautyHeaven did not use a shaving gel or cream, although I found out later, from the Schick website that you are still supposed to use one. So, my review will be based on using just the razor alone. I tried it on my underarm and bikini area only once, but I did try it on my legs a few times.

My verdict?

When I tried the razor on my underarm and bikini area, I had some irritation under my arms. I'm not sure if this is due to the actual razor or just the fact that I'm not used to shaving there. With the bikini area, I did like the way it felt after the shave but not the way the hair grew back. So for me, I still prefer waxing.
I really enjoyed using the razor for my legs, as it gave a really close shave with no cuts and it worked well on the curved areas of my legs. The moisturiser serum is great. It was very hydrating and made it a very smooth and comfortable shave. I was able to go almost a week without shaving again.
I didn't have any issues with the in-shower holder and found it quite handy. However, the moisturising serum did ooze out a little bit while I wasn't using it. I think it would benefit from an extra cap, I just use the plastic cover that it came with.
Great, quick, hydrating razor for the legs!
