You know what they say, 'out with the old, in with the new', so today I'm sharing with you my empties for March '15. Also, a pinch and a punch for the first day of the month (cos that's how mature I am) meaning this is the first post as a part of my birthday gift to you! #mgty

PRODUCTS

1 | Lush Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie $32.95 for 200g - bit.ly/1OS30I1
I love the scent of this products (I'm going to say it) even more than the famous Ro's Argan Oil. I'm not the biggest fan of pure rose scents so the added jasmine and neroli (my fave) just absolutely hits the nail on the head for me. The issue for me though is that I've used a tub of this and loved it but I still actually have no idea what it is.. like what is a shower smoothie? I've confirmed from the Lush staff that it's not a body wash (which should be used prior to this product), and it's not a body conditioner (like Ro's which should be used after this product.) So what then exactly is a shower smoothie, other than something you use in the shower that smells divine? Would I really pay $33 again for that.. not sure. What do you think?

2 | Skin Food Steam Milk Mask Cream - bit.ly/1Nwk6rx
I didn't actually finish this product but it expired at the end of last year so I decided to get rid of it. It's a very hydrating moisturiser that has been just a bit too much for even my normal/dry skin the past six months which was why it was kind of shoved to the side and forgotten about. I would probably only recommend this for people with dry/very dry skin living in harsh climates as it has quite a thick sleeping mask-like consistency that's good for locking moisture in the skin - sort of balm-like but in a cream form so it's still easy to spread over the skin.

3 | Caudalie VinoPerfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF15 - $66.21 for 40mL - bit.ly/1DmKMvo~
This product warrants an "OMG!". It's so luxurious, smells incredibly delicious and awakening which is important for a day cream. It's super lightweight yet insanely hydrating with SPF 15 that I would recommend for all skin types. While you can't see any different as it sinks in and disappears immediately, you can definitely feel your skin drinking up that hydration. I've already started saving so I can pick up a full size of this for summer next year as this does cost a pretty penny.

4 | Juju Cosmetics Aquamoist Moisture Milk - discontinued? (Couldn't find any information in English)
This I also didn't finish and wasn't a big fan of for the opposite reason to the Skin Food Cream. The moisture milk was very liquidy (makes sense) so it really just spread out to nothing and didn't really do much.

5 | Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution Sensitive Skin $31.99 for 500mL - bit.ly/1DmYlen~
I got a tiny sample of this a while ago in a beauty box and just used it up when I went to Melbourne. Love Bioderma for lazy makeup removal and have a 500mL bottle sitting on my drawer for such occasions. I really want to try the blue one though for sensitive dehydrated skin.

6 | My Beauty Diary Collagen Firming Mask $15.50 for 10 - bit.ly/1BZ3u55~
I was clearly having a lazy sheet mask month as I only have one empty to share with you. This one I received a while ago as a sample to try with a YesStyle order I believe. I love My Beauty Diary masks and I had never tried this one but I quite liked it and would consider repurchasing if I was ever running low on sheet masks (highly doubt that will ever happen though.. >.<").

7 | Daiso Triangle Brow Pencil $2.80
I am the exact opposite of a brow product snob. I picked this up because I thought the triangle shape was quite interesting so I gave it a go and I quite like it, which basically means that it's a somewhat dark brown colour and doesn't migrate to my forehead when I brush my brows out. They're really the only two requirements of a brow product for me. I have quite thick, full brows already so I just need something to fill them in a bit and define the ends. The brush at the other end is also quite handy. Stock tends to come and go at Daiso so if I ever see these, I always pick one up for backup.

8 | Big W Makeup Remover Pads $2 for 200
These are soft (not like a baby's bum but soft enough), don't break up when I'm trying to remove my makeup or apply toner and they're cheap as chips. What more can I say. Always pick these up when I can't get to a Daiso to pick up my favourite cotton pads. They're just so easily accessible and affordable - can literally be bought with the change found under your car seat.

9 | Oral-B 3D White Toothpaste $9.49 for 130g - bit.ly/1IL51lc~
Picked these up as a triple pack from Costco and we're onto our last tube. Not much to say other than the fact that it's not super minty tasting toothpaste and didn't notice any whitening effects.

10 | SK-II Facial Treatment Essence $99 for 75mL + 1 Mask + 30mL Clear Lotion - bit.ly/1xuoxkH~
My holy grail product, I will never be without this. Already onto a 215mL bottle, however I'm doing a showdown of the facial essences I have tried so for the last few weeks I have been using the Shiseido Eurdermine Revitalising Essence.

Empties #4

Finished up quite a few products in the past months and any beauty junkie can tell you that the feeling of finishing a products is just awesome. This is going to be a long one. I hope you enjoy <3



- Proactiv Step 3: Repair -
This is (obviously) step 3 of the 3-step Proactiv system and it's a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (bp) treatment. Proactiv is really hit and miss for people and I can do a blogpost on my experience if you're interested. I first tried their products 10 year ago so we kind of go way back. Long story short, I do like the Proactiv products and I really rely on using a 2.5% bp cream all over my face as a preventative measure for when my skin is going through a freak out / break out period. This is a good one to use and it has a 'best' rating on beautypedia however I feel like mixing equal parts 5% bp and my normal moisturiser works just as well for me. I won't be repurchasing because my skin is okay at the moment and I already picked up a normal 2.5% bp treatment from the chemist.

- Estee Lauder Idealist -
I love this stuff. The first product where I actual noticed my acne scars lightening. It also has tiny shimmers in it that I guess 'brighten' your skin, but you can't see it at all. I tried to save the product by only using it during the day and I still noticed a difference. I only use it after my breakout periods when only the scars are left and not when I have active breakouts. I won't be repurchasing because I'm using Vitamin E at the moment and I feel like it leaves my skin nice and soft, as well as lighten any acne scarring.

- Yes to Carrots Eye can C Clearly Now Eye Contour Cream -
This is just a moisturising eye cream which didn't claim be anti-ageing or help puffiness and dark circles. Came in a huge 30ml pump bottle which took forever to use up but I do like the packaging. I don't think they actually sell this anymore.. but it was fairly basic eye cream and I wouldn't have repurchased anyway.

- Shiseido The Skincare Lotion -
I think The Skincare range is their most basic and it just helps to keep your skin nice and moisturised. They call it a 'lotion' but it's actually a 'toner'. It's one of those thick 'toners' that's almost halfway to a serum. I still used a cotton pad to apply because I guess I was trying to use it up but it is thick enough to get a few drops into your hands and pat it into your skin. I won't be repurchasing because I didn't feel like it did much for me and there are definitely other products out there that I'd like to try.

- Lush Celestial Mosturiser -
This is a fairly thick and rich moisturiser that is perfect for dry, sensitive, irritated skin. I only use this in winter (aka 10 months of the year in Melbourne) so I finished it probably around November. I personally think it smells like vanilla ice cream.. but apparently not. I would repurchase if I get really dry, itchy, irritated skin again but other than that I did feel it was a little bit too rich for an everyday moisturiser for my normal/dry skin.

- Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub -
I really like this product as just an everyday night time cleanser that can take off minimal makeup. They do have a cream cleanser and normal cleanser version without the scrub as well but I have personally never tried them and the scrub is really not too rough or drying for everyday use so I've never felt the need to try the other alternatives. I also like to use this with my Clarisonic for the nights I do use it. This might be my first or second empty bottle but I have two half way done and a full backup. Love this stuff and I get the twin pack from Costco!

- Silk Whitia Quick Action Moisturising Mask -
This was an okay sheet mask. It's one of those that you have to wash off and they recommend using everyday so I'm not really sold of the effectiveness of them. It's just fun to add a little something extra to your skincare on days when you want to pamper yourself. I got suckered into the buy one get one free offer on sasa but I won't be repurchasing anything from Silk Whita.

- Silk Whitia Soy Milk Whitening Mask -
Same as above with this mask. I do like the soy milk smell though. Makes me crave Peal Milk Tea every time.. I'm weird.

- Eucerin Everyday Protection SPF 30 -
This is a really good everyday basic moisturiser with SPF. It doesn't feel thick or greasy. It's just really comfortable to wear, sinks in really quickly and I know I'm covered for SPF on my face and neck even if my makeup doesn't happen to have SPF in it. I would definitely repurchase if I could get my hands on it but I know there are lots of other basic SPF moisturisers that I can easily access here.

- Watsons Collagen Eye Roller -
Didn't notice anything crazy but was nice to massage around the eyes. Probably wouldn't repurchase.

- Daiso Cotton Puffs -
Always have this in my empties. Favourite super cheap Cotton Pads. Always have backups!



- Estee Lauder Bronzer -
This is so old.. but it was a pretty good bronzer. I use it as a contour/blush because it's not like a cool-toned taupy contour colour, it's warm but not too orange that you look crazy. This is probably the product that cured my phobia of bronzers and realise that they can work for pale skin too. I would repurchase but I have a couple in my stash at the moment and some other I'd love to try.

- Jurlique Jasmine Hand Cream -
This is my favourite hand cream scent from them and I would repurchase but I have so many hand cream to use up.. omg. Is really moisturising but absorbs quickly. I have a rose one on my bedside table at the moment.

- Dove Go Fresh -
I really like the fresh scent of this but find that most deoderant sprays make me choke..like I breath in the particles after I spray and I start coughing.. I dno. Anyway, I just stick to roll-ons now.

- Bach Rescue Pastilles -
These are amazing, my secret weapon. They really do work, it's not just a mental thing. I really need to get some more but I want to order them through iherb because they're a little bit cheaper.

- Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara -
I liked this formula but I didn't like the brush. I understand that the point of having a tapered or cone brush is to coat every lash, even the small inner lashes but I dno.. I just personally prefer a large brush in general. I did mean I could use the small end on my lower lashes without having to switch mascaras which is good. I wouldn't repurchase just because I feel like I can find budget alternatives that work just as well.

- Lancome Oscillation Mascara -
This is my favourite luxury aka expensive mascara. It really volumises and lengthens and of course the oscillating motion separates like nothing else. One coat for natural long lashes, two coats for some added drama and three coats for an amazing false lash effect and you can build it up till you look you have two furry animals on your lashes but still not look clumpy. It's just awesome. I think (hope) I still have a backup of this in my stash in Sydney.. ps. I just looked on the Lancome website and it's not there anymore. Why?!

- NYX Felt Tip Liner -
Sorry, this stuff is rubbish. It's not even black, it's like a dark green and dried out in 2 seconds.. Maybe I got a dud but not worth another try.

- Lush.. stuff? -
OMG I can't even see/remember what these three Lush items were.. fail. It's 20 degrees and freezing as I type this so I'm really wishing for a nice warm Lush bath.. ahh..

October Trash | Empties #3

Hi there, Hope you're all doing well! I have been totally lacking motivation to film/blog since I came to a realisation that I just own too much stuff.. in particular beauty/makeup/skincare/bath/body.. so I decided to go on a spending ban / pan project.. but not an actual one because once I start calling it that and documenting my 'pan project' I get bored and stray! So, I'm just trying to see how long I can go without adding to my collection. It's been about 2-3 months already and I have accumulated quite a trash/empties stash. August Trash | Empties #2

There's nothing more satisfying for a beauty junkie than finishing a beauty product. When this happens emotions can range from being sad, happy, relieved to good riddance... I hope you enjoy this trash talk and leave me a comment letting me know what I will find in your trash can (:

1. Imperialis Face Moisturiser

The Lush lady gave me a sample of this when I went in for some skincare. I think it was okay, I don't remember it being amazing but then again the sample only lasted a couple of day. I wouldn't repurchase because I have a tonne of skincare waiting to be used and it's quite expensive..

2. Maybelline Express Care Eye Makeup Remover

I think this product is discontinued. I picked up a bottle for 50% off at Chemist Warehouse and then I loved it so much, I picked up 3 more. I think I still have 2 backup bottles. They replaced this with the Total Clean Eye Makeup Remover which I haven't tried yet. The two-layered products you have to shake usually works pretty well for me even with waterproof mascara.

3. Clarisonic Brush Head in Delicate

To be honest, I change my brush heads every 6 months. I use it at night only and maybe 5 nights a week. I find delicate is best for me all year round as I can use the high setting during summer and lower settings during winter where my skin is more dry and sensitive. The current brush head I have on my Clarisonic is about 2 months old and I don't think I'll be repurchasing soon as I'm trying to see if I can stop using it.

4. Face of Australia Purifying Cleansing Wipes

These really did nothing for me. To be fair I have only found one wipe which works for my face - Nivea Pure & Natural. Everything else hurts and in this case, doesn't even remove any makeup. I rarely use wipes anyway so I used these up by wiping my makeup area and swatches.

5. Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser - Normal/Combination

I absolutely LOVE Liz Earle like omg.. This was a great moisturiser, without being thick or heavy feeling, just so comfortable on the skin. I think I still have one (or two..) jars of this left so I won't need to repurchase this but definitely would when I run out.

6. Proactiv Toner

I turned to Proactiv earlier in the year when my skin was freaking it out from the move interstate.. It had worked for me when I was younger so I thought I would give it another go. The toner is probably my favourite from the core range - it's alcohol free with glycolic acid. I wouldn''t repurchase because I'm trying to have a more "natural lifestyle" but I would say don't diss Proactiv until you've tried it. True, it's not going to work for everyone (nothing does) but it has also done wonders for a lot of people and you might just possibly be one of them. (Side note: For me, Proactive cleared up my 'wide T-zone' but I still constantly battle with hormonal acne around my mouth.)

7. Ihana Powder Brushes

These shed like nobody's business and they hurt my face. I've had them for a while and I tried to make it work by washing them with a conditioner and thinking they would stop shedding after a while but nup. These have got to go.

8. Skin79 BB Cream (Hot Pink)

This has nice coverage, SPF25 and I usually use this everyday under my foundation (or alone) as a base. I won't be repurchasing this one in particular because I hear the gold one is more geared towards normal/dry skin and I also picked up the Lioele Tripe the Solution because my friend (who hates BB Creams) raved on about it.

9. Moroccanoil

I picked this up ages ago when it was all the rage.. and I totally fell into the hype. Now, I don't think it's anything special at all. Every brand has come out with this type of hair oil (including Aldi) and I find they all work (or not work) all the same. My favourite hair serum is CHI Silk Infusion before heat and Davroe Moisture Sense Argan Oil.

10. Oral-B Brush Head in Sensitive

I brush my teeth.. as I'm sure you all do. I prefer the Sensitive one but I've been using the Precision Clean lately (because it comes in a bulk pack at Costco) and it doesn't hurt my teeth or anything.

11. Lush Bubblebeard Reuseable Bubble Bar

This is a limited edition Christmas product and I got about 3 uses out of this. It's white and it comes in the shape of a beard/moustache. The scent is pleasant but not overly sweet like floral or fruity.

October Empties

Hi guys!

I'm finally back with another video and it's going to be an Empties video just because I have been trying to use up a lot of my products lately. I don't think I have purchased any cosmetics/makeup in the past few months due to being super hectic busy with work and uni and also because I realised that I genuinely DO NOT NEED anymore makeup.. Hello Beautyloverrs!

I hope you're having a wonderful day! I had to make this a separate video because my November Faves & Fails video was getting to be way to long. I showed most of the products I purchased this month in haul videos so I just mentioned the candles that I picked up at the new Ikea in Tempe, Sydney. I also had a lot of products that I finished, mostly skincare as I was just lathering my skin in moisturiser to keep it hydrated and calm ... -sigh-
