FANCL Facial Washing Powder | Review | peachsbeauty

Hello,

I'm back!

I won't bore you with the details about why I haven't blogged in uh... over a year? Something about getting hitched, knocked up and giving birth to a boy. Ya know, the usual spiel :p. Anyhoo, I can't wait to tell you about all the products I've tried during my hiatus and first off, we have FANCL's Facial Washing Powder. Here's the details:

PRODUCT | FANCL Facial Washing Powder
COST | I can't remember how much I picked up this set for but the powder itself is US$30.90 for 50g/1.76 oz [buy here - affiliate]
ABOUT FANCL | Their main sell is that they do 'preservative-free skincare'. Their lids are 'touch-free' to prevent bacteria and their products are packaged with a 30-day supply to keep their freshness during use. Interesting.

They say:
"Amino Acid to remove dirt and sebum without removing precious moisture from your skin."
"Suitable for all skin types, it is also selectively eliminates factors which lead to skin problems such as old protein which causes dullness and ageing skin."

I say:
The FANCL Facial Washing Powder is the first product of its type that I've tried and it's probably the only powder cleanser that I've ever heard of (that's an actual cleanser and not a facial scrub like Dermalogica Microfoliant or Bobbi Brown Buffing Grains). I think it's also the first and only FANCL product that I've tried and didn't know much about the brand other than that it's good for sensitive skin as it's supposed to not have a lot of chemicals. I've learnt more since then (see above) and I'm definitely keen to try more FANCL products.

The particular set I picked up came with the foaming tool however I read on the website that you can create the same soft foams by making a well with your palm and 'whisking' with your fingers in a circular motion. (See instructions below).

The first time I used the product I was rubbing the foaming sponge back and forth and nothing was happening.. duh, because I was using it totally wrong. To be fair, the packaging was completely in Japanese so I couldn't read the instructions but when I finally looked up how to actually use the product I was amazed at how soft and how much foam was created. It was like soft foam for days!

The foam on the skin feels soft but dense at the same time. It feels like you're washing your face with puffs of clouds - extremely gentle but actually very effective. If you continue massaging the foam into your skin you cold be standing there for days but when you stop, the foam does start to disintegrate slowly. By the time I washed and wiped my hands to take the photo I had lost some of the foam so you can imagine how much I had to begin with. I'll insert an instagram photo that's a better representation of the foam (follow me @peachsbeauty!). I don't know the science behind it but I could feel the gunk coming out of my pores and when you rinse away the foam you're just left with smooth, really clean skin without the tight feeling. If I'm having a particular gunky day I'll go in with a scrub afterwards (I'm loving Aesop's Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste right now!) for super soft and smooth feeling skin afterwards. You can also definitely use this with the Clarisonic for a more deeper clean. I use the cashmere brush head so it's still gentle but more effective. I have personally never tried to remove makeup with this as I like to double cleanse by going in with a cleansing oil before hand.

Repurchase? YES!

FINAL RATING:
✿✿✿✿

I really enjoy using this product and would recommend this for anyone who's in the market to try something different. I believe it's great for all skin types as it leaves your skin its normal state without drying or leaving any residue. It may take a little longer washing your face if you're having too much fun playing with the foam but otherwise it's not any more of a hassle than a traditional facial cleanser.

Have you tried the Fancl Facial Washing Powder or another similar product?! I'd love to hear your thoughts.

P.S. Hello to anyone coming from Fabulous and Fun Life's Monday Makeup Madness 91 Link Up! Thanks for visiting and hope you'll stay a while (:

Review: Laneige BB Cushion SPF50+ PA++ | my gift to you | peachsbeauty

hi there,

I mentioned in my 'What's in My Travel Bag' video [watch] that I'd be trying out the Laneige BB Cushion on my little Melbourne getaway and report back, so here's my review. I actually picked this up in Hong Kong because my boyfriend's cousin asked me to pick one up for her and being the true makeup junkie that I am, I popped one in the basket for me too (as you do).

Laneige BB Cushion 13 True Beige Review | my gift to you | bit.ly/peachsblog

What I think of Laneige's 6 claims:
* Whitening: It does brighten the skin a little with its natural finish but haven't use it consistently enough to notice any long term whitening effects.
* Moisturising: It does feel very moisturising and comfortable on my normal/dry skin and doesn't accentuate any dryness or flakiness at all.
* Sunscreen: SPF50+ is always good for during the day.
* Water Resistant: Can't really vouch for that. You will lose some coverage if you're sweating but it does wear off nicely and not in patches.
* Soothing: You can feel a cooling sensation when I applied with the sponge provided and it feels pretty soothing to me.
* Makeup Effects: It certainly gives a very pretty skin-like buildable medium coverage.

Application... I tried two application methods with the BB Cushion: the sponge that it came with and a Kabuki style brush (Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki - bit.ly/1FDiEiM~ used in the demo below. I actually prefer the Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki - bit.ly/1I7C1TS~ as it fits perfectly in the compact). The image below shows my bare face and what the compact looks like inside (more on the packaging later).
Laneige BB Cushion 13 True Beige Review | my gift to you | bit.ly/peachsblog
The top left photo below shows one layer of product on the left side of my face (your left) and the photo below shows two layers, as applied with the sponge provided. When applying, you'll notice that the sponge has a cooling effect on your skin which is awesome and unlike any other sponge I have ever used before. It's a shame that you only get one sponge per pack although it doesn't stain/absorb product so it does stay fairly clean. Still remember to give it a gentle wash every week or two as you would a normal brush.

The coverage that you get from the sponge is pretty good, buildable medium coverage with two layers. That's about the amount of coverage I would expect from such a lightweight BB-type liquid product where your skin still looks like skin but the majority of your imperfections are no longer there. Some concealing can always be done if required.

The top right and bottom right photo below shows one and two layers of the product respectively applied with an Angled Kabuki brush on the right side of my face (your right). The coverage is less than with the sponge as the brush will absorb some of the product. There is a lot more redness and imperfections showing through as the brush blends out the product too much to build decent coverage. My preferred and recommended method of application would definitely be the sponge.

Wear... To be honest the lasting power is the only con with this product. I will admit that it wears off nicely, so no blotchiness or streaking but just more of my imperfections/redness showing throughout the day. I can get about six hours without setting but if I'm in a really humid or sweaty environment, all bets are off. It's also not transfer resistant so setting it probably is the way to go although the natural skin-like finish is very nice. The compact makes it very easy to touchup throughout the day if needed and it just depends on your skin-type whether you sacrifice longevity (setting) for the finish. You might find that on combination skin, it wears off within four hours so you would rather set than have to touchup every four hours. I'm probably making it sound worse than it is but it just happened to be fairly hot most of the days I tried this and for the other days the product actually lasted just fine on me.

Scent... There is a slightly sweet floral scent which you'll notice during application but it doesn't linger and is actually quite pleasant.

Packaging... It comes in a typical refillable Cushion compact, although maybe a little bit bulkier than some. You get two 15g refillable cartridges, a compact and sponge per box. It has a nice big mirror and a lid over the 'BB Cushion' to separate the application sponge. The packaging is white with silver trim, which is very chic.

Recommend... this for mostly people with normal to dry/very dry skin. I did not notice it accentuating or drying out my skin at all and it does feel fairly moisturising. This compact is great for travelling as you don't need anything else for applications/touchups, gives you enough SPF during the day and is so lightweight and comfortable to wear on your skin. I probably wouldn't use it as an everyday base at home just because it's not the cheapest BB cream/tinted moisturiser out there. As with all BB Creams, you can also use this as a primer/tinted SPF and go over the top with a foundation to add some extra coverage and increase longevity.

Have you jumped onto the 'Cushion' bandwagon yet? Even my mum has! She was telling me all about her 'History of Whoo Cushion Foundation' like it was the best thing since sliced bread and I was like yeah.. I have one too. Hahaha, love to know if you've tried any cushion products!

Review: Kanebo Suisai Beauty Clear Powder | my gift to you | peachsbeauty

hi there,

Firstly, hope you've all had a great Easter looong weekend!

I've been hearing a bit about the Suisai Beauty Clear Powder here and there for a while now (it's definitely not a new product) but I've never been able to find a lot of information about it since it's a Japanese product. I decided to pick up a trial pack (15pc instead of the standard 32pc packaging) when I was in Japan to see for myself what this beauty powder was all about. All that I knew about it was that it was a powder, which I assume you mix with water to create a foam that you use to clean your face. It potentially had some exfoliating/deep cleansing properties which would leave your skin smooth and brighter (like all Japanese skincare). If you know any more specific details, e.g. ingredients etc. please leave me a comment!

Review: suisai beauty powder | my gift to you | peachsbeauty | bit.ly/peachsblog

[Note - I still don't know much about the product but here are my thoughts]

Application... is very simple and self-explanatory. Pour the powder into the palm of your hands and slowly start adding water to it. Rub your hands together to create some foam and gently wash your face in circular motions (or up and down motions.. the motions don't matter haha). Continue for about a minute, adding more water if required (it will keep foaming!), then rinse off. You should end up with quite smooth, clean feeling skin, especially in the pores and not a hint of tightness or dryness.

If you'd really like to take it up a notch, use the beauty powder with your Clarisonic or other facial cleansing tool/brush. Apply the foam to your face first then clean away. It will leave your skin feeling so soft and like every single bit of gunk has been extracted out of your pores without stripping your skin of its moisture or natural oils.

Scent... is soapy?

Results... were very surprising - surprisingly good of course. I really didn't know what to expect with this product since I wasn't able to read anything on the packaging or find any solid information online. I found that the smooth, clean pore feeling lasted for a week with a gentle scrub during the week to get rid of some of the dead skin buildup (more of an issue for me with my dry skin).

Recommend... this for anyone and everyone! It really is quite amazing how it's able to be so deep cleansing but extremely gentle at the same time. I really like the packaging as well so you know exactly how much to use and it's literally made for travelling.

REVIEW: Lush Shine So Bright Hair Balm

Shine So Bright Hair Balm
Image: lush.com.au
The Details: Lush Shine So Bright Hair Balm
Price: AUD$7.50 for 10g
Packaging: Tiny metal screw tin - fairly sturdy, haven't had issues of unscrewing
Scent: very nice - floral, citrus
Ingredients: Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Candelilla Wax (Euphorbia cerifera), Fair Trade Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Perfume (Perfume), Neroli Oil (Citrus aurantium amara), Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi), Rosewood Oil (Aniba rosaeodora), Fresh Free Range Eggs (Fresh Free Range Eggs), Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), *Hydroxycitronellal (*Hydroxycitronellal), Geraniol (Geraniol), *Citral (*Citral), *Farnesol (*Farnesol), *Limonene (*Limonene), *Benzyl Benzoate (*Benzyl Benzoate), *Linalool (*Linalool) * Occurs naturally in essential oils

They say:
"A balm to transform split ends and make your hair shine so bright. This will repair split ends with a plethora of strengthening ingredients, such as Extra Virgin olive oil, fresh free-range eggs and fair trade coconut oil. Coconut oil also adds condition and shine. Fragranced with an uplifting blend of orange flower absolute, grapefruit, neroli and rosewood." - Lush

I say:
Application - I gently rub my fingers across the top of the product to melt some onto my fingers and then I apply it to my dry ends, approximately 10-15cm. I have used it the last 5 times I have washed my hair but it is a good product to use on the in-between days as well. A little bit goes a long way so it should last a little while, maybe a few months if you don't wash your hair everyday and use sparingly.

Pros - I really liked this product because I love the way it smells and I felt like it did add a bit of moisture to my hair to make it shine. I'm not so sure about the 'split end transforming' claims because I'm not sure how you would make your hair come back together once it's split.. I do believe moisturising and strengthening my hair will prevent split ends in the future though.

Cons - However.. This is a very small pot of product and while it won't break the bank at $7.50 a tin, when you look at the ingredients they're mostly things you can pick up at the grocery, health food store or easily accessible online.

*Warning - the following paragraph is a little bit of a rant about DIY beauty products and how you could potentially make this product at home* So 'Extra Virgin Coconut Oil' is something I have at home and is now easily accessible at your local grocery.. I get a 900g jar for about $10 from Costco (I think from memory, although my memory is horrible). Shea Butter, I get mine from iherb.com, approximately 200mL for $8; Candelilla wax, available from soap ingredients suppliers $8 for 100g, although it's not a necessity if you don't have it; Olive oil, also another staple in our kitchen, fair trade might be a little harder to find though; Neroli, grapefruit, rosewood oil all available from iherb.com or again soap making/aromatherapy shops; free range eggs.. I think that's obvious although how much egg/protein do you think they really got in that 10g tin? Having said all that.. you could probably get a pinch of Coconut Oil and Shea Butter and rub it in your hair for an instant shine.. *rant over*

Final words?
While I do really really like the product, and the concept of the product (great for travelling and a moisture boost/protector from dry airplane air!), I'm kind of torn about repurchasing. I'm going to try some DIY solutions to see if I can achieve the same results but I have a feeling I will always have some of this on hand for an instant hair shine pick-me-up that has a to die for scent.

REVIEW | RealTechniques Brushes by Samantha Chapman

 ** iherb.com : Use code BNC512 for up to $10 OFF **

CORE COLLECTION (iherb) $17.99 | (rrp) $45

What RealTechniques says:
Create a perfect canvas with this collection of coverage essentials.
Includes 4 full-size brushes + case:
- detailer brush: precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition
- pointed foundation brush: Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage
- buffing brush: ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation
- contour brush: delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish

What I say:
- The detailer brush is great for diffusing aka blending out concealer around a blemish. Can also be use a lip brush as it has a nice pointed tip and stiff bristles.
- The pointed foundation brush isn't so much pointed as round and has a good stiffness in the bristles. It is too small as a foundation brush for me so I use it as a concealer brush for under the eyes and around the nose.
- I love the buffing brush for all different types of foundation; liquid, powder and cream but my personal preference is liquid. (Although the buffing brush works great with powder and cream foundations as well, I personally prefer a flat top kabuki e.g. F80)
- The contour is brush is amazing for .. contouring! The size and domed shape is perfect for getting in the point under your cheekbones and blending the colour downwards. It's amazingly soft and blends the contour colour effortlessly to create a natural appearance.

STARTER KIT (iherb) $17.99 | (rrp) $39.95

What RealTechniques says:
Eye definition goes high-definition with this essential set.
Includes 5 full-size brushes + case:
- base shadow brush: applies a smooth, flawless foundation of color
- deluxe crease brush: soft, oversized design for effortless contouring
- accent brush: designed for precision detailing, spotlighting, highlighting, and smudging
- pixel-point eyeliner brush: tapered cut is ideal for dense or fine eyeliner application
- brow brush: distinctive shape easily defines eyebrows

What I say:
- I use the base shadow brush as a crease brush because it's flat and tapered which is the perfect shape for getting into the crease and blending out the colour. I personally prefer flat eyeshadow brushes to pack colour onto my lids.
- The deluxe crease brush is a fairly dense, round, domed brush with super soft bristles (similar to the P82, if you're familiar with Sigma brushes) It's too big for my crease so I use it to blend out concealer under my eyes and sometimes around my nose.
- The accent brush is great for applying and blending out colour on the lower lash line. It is so tiny and precise, it'll make sure you get the colour to exactly where you want it and nowhere you don't. It's also great to applying a bright colour in the inner corners.
- I'm not really a big fan of the pixel-point eyeliner brush as I feel like the bristles don't come together enough to create a clean line. I much prefer an angled eyeliner brush or the brushes which come with the Maybelline gel lines which is exactly the same shape as the accent brush but half the size.
- The brow brush is very unique as it's angled with an oval shape to easily shape the brows.

FOUNDATION BRUSH (iherb) $7.99 | (rrp) $19.95

What RealTechniques says:
The angled cut lets you build the coverage you need for airbrushed, high-definition results.

What I say:
I personally don't use flat foundation brushes so I use this as a highlighter brush. The angle works great for apply highlighting products onto the cheekbones, under the brow bone and down the bridge of the nose. Best for cream products but also works with powder.

EXPERT FACE BRUSH (iherb) $8.99 | (rrp) $19.95

What RealTechniques says:
Ultra firm and broad for application and blending of cream or liquid foundation.

What I say:
This brush is just a great all rounder brush for the face and can be used for cream and liquid foundation, blush, bronzer and highlighter. As I do not have a blush brush with me I have been using this as primarily a blush brush for even my powder blushes.  I apply blush to the cheeks and then use a sweeping motion to blend it upwards towards my hairline. Because the brush is quite dense, the colour applied will be highly pigmented so don't use too much product! The domed shape and denseness is also great for high coverage foundation and getting into all areas of the face (which is why I want a backup of this brush!)

STIPPLING BRUSH (iherb) $9.99 | (rrp) $22.95

What RealTechniques says:
This dual-fiber brush is the trade secret for creating airbrushed, high-definition results with all types of makeup.

What I say:
The dual-fiber brush is great for creating a natural finish with your liquid and cream foundation. I used to love using duo-fiber brushes for foundation until I found the Sigma F80 but this brush has made me fall in love with them all over again. The brush is also great for creating a really light and youthful finish with your cream blushes (be sure to dip lightly in the pan as not too get too much product!). The size is just perfect for my face but you may find it too big/small depending on your preferences. I would say the size is in between a MAC 187 and 188 and smaller than the Sigma F50.

And...
- panoramic brush case is a 2-in-1 case + stand
- look pixel-perfect even in harsh light
- ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free
- self-standing for easy storage
- extended aluminum handles are light and easy to use

I say:
- The brush case is super convenient for travelling but not very suitable as a stand/brush holder (e.g. on your makeup table) as the elastic holds the brush in quite tightly so you need two hands to pick up the brush - one to hold the stand down.
- While it is handy that the larger brushes are self-standing, I would never really leave them standing along on my table.
- The aluminium handles are light, yet feel very sturdy. The detail/eye brushes are shorter than the Sigma ones, which makes sense as you are working with a closer distance however the face brushes are the same length.
- The brushes in the kits are not available for purchase individually and vice versa.

Review | Grace Cole Co Body Butter – Watermelon & Grapefruit

Gracecole.co.uk Description:
-       - Luxurious and nourishing, this rich Body Butter is perfect for soothing dry skin and leaves your body temptingly soft and smooth.
-      -  Directions For Use: Massage generously into skin after bathing.

Description on packaging:
Body Butter – Intensive Moisturing Formula
Rich and nourishing, this luxurious Body Butter leaves skin smooth and supple.
Fruit Works – Revive your sense with this cocktail of mouthwatering bath and body treats.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Glyceryl Stearate SE, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, Petrolatum, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propyparaben, Benzophenone – 3, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Parfum (Fragrance), Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene.

What do I use it for?
I use it as a body moisturiser.

How do I use it?
I use it as it states on the packaging, after a shower. Sometimes I use it before I got to bed, however considering I shower before I go to bed, it’s kind of the same thing. I apply it all over my body starting from the feet, massaging them a little bit if I can be bothered. Then I apply to my legs using a circular motion, torso, arms and the rest rubbed into my hands.

My verdict?
The body lotion is not as thick as I would like a ‘body butter’ to be. I’d say the consistency is more like a thick body lotion, not as liquid-y but certainly not quite as solid or thick as a ‘body butter’. It will keep you moisturised for a couple of days but for nice, hydrated skin I would apply everyday. It won’t cure very dehydrated, scaly skin but it will temporarily improve the appearance of dry skin.
The scent leans more towards the pink grapefruit side. It’s quite refreshing and pleasant if you like the scent of pink grapefruit, as I do. The scent does smell artificial although not grotesquely so. The scent does last during application and it lingers for a short time afterwards. If I apply it after a shower in the morning I will get very slight hints of this throughout the day but it is quite faint.
I love that it sinks in quite quickly. I am able to get dressed after a few minutes without feeling sticky or uncomfortable.
I believe there are four different scents including Peach & Pear (orange), Coconut & Lime (green) and Pineapple & Passionfruit (yellow).

Although the price is very affordable, it does not provide enough moisturisation for me and it’s not the best scent I have experienced.

Review | CHI Silk Infusion Silk Reconstructing Complex

Farouk | Official CHI Site Description:

  • Leave-in, alcohol free reconstructing treatment
  • Enriched with pure natural silk, wheat and soy proteins
  • Protects the hair against thermal styling and the environment

What do I use it for?
CHI Silk Infusion is a leave-in hair treatment. It can also be used as a heat protector, before using any heat tools, such as dryers, straighteners and curlers. It can be used on wet or dry hair and as long as you don’t use too much, it won’t weigh your hair down or make it look greasy.

How do I use it?
I usually use a 20c piece or .. about the size of a walnut onto damp hair, so not too wet. I usually towel-dry my hair then leave it for about 20 minutes before I apply the Silk Infusion. I do this because I have quite thick and long hair so it does take a little bit of time to dry/become damp. You can apply this straight onto towel-dried hair if it’s not too wet and you might only need a pea-sized amount if you have thin or short hair. If you’re not sure, start with a pea-sized amount and use more if you feel necessary.
I usually only apply to the bottom of my hair, so about the last 20cm. Then any remaining product on my hands I will run through my fringe, just to avoid weighing down or flattening the hair on top.

My verdict?
I loved CHI Silk Infusion for a long time. I have almost finished my second bottle 300mL and only my second because a little bit goes a long way so a bottle lasts for quite some time (I think it lasted almost a year for me). I love how it leaves my hair feeling after a wash and it’s always good to know my hair is being protected from my heating tools. My hair feels soft and silky and remains feeling that way even after straightening. For me, this product replaced my Morocconoil and it’s also more affordable.
Unfortunately, I won’t be repurchasing this after I finish my second bottle as I have found a new holy grail (HG) leave-in hair treatment, Davroe Moisture Senses Argan Oil. I will be doing a full review of the Davroe Argan Oil soon, so please stay tuned for that to hear why I think it’s better than the Silk Infusion!

Review: Daiso Brush Cleanser

Daiso Sponge and Puff detergent is just one of the amazing things at the Japanese discount store. If you're not familiar, Daiso is a Japanese store where everything is AU$2.80. A lot of the things are awesome, most of the things you didn't even know you needed or existed and some of things don't quite cut it. So why is this brush cleanser so great? Because it cleans your brushes so well and effortlessly and leaves no residue what so ever. Let me explain..

How I use this:
1. Pour a small amount of product onto the dirty dry brush. Work this product into the brush until it's covered all the bristles.
2. Remove the excess product by squeezing the brush and you will notice your makeup coming off.
3. Create some foam by rinsing the brush with water and keep rinsing and squeezing out the product until you get clean running water.
Image 4 shows the difference between a dirty and clean brush. The clean brush doesn't feel oily, doesn't smell funny, doesn't dry stiff or seem to damage the bristles.

I have also used this on puffs and more recently on sponges as I am discovering the amazing world of sponges for foundation application (another Daiso gem, but more about that on another post). It is especially good for sponges as I can work the product into the sponge with my fingers. Create some foam and rinse the sponge clean until the water was no longer frothy. Squeeze it dry with a towel and it can be used straight away. I imagine this would be perfect for the Beauty Blender but I don't actually own one (although everyone tells me I must) so I wouldn't know.

Trust me guys, if you have a Daiso near you, run out and grab it. (I know lots of people have discovered this product already!)

The details:
* Available at Daiso stores nationally (I think)
* $2.80

Review | Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners // Makeup Monday #1

This is a repost from my old blog (:

I decided to try these under the recommendation of FleurDeForce from YouTube and they are 50% OFF at Chemist Warehouse (and the black one is a GWP) so I couldn't say no!

What Rimmel says:
- Long lasting shocking color intensity with kohl Britania
- High intensity color for an instant color impact
- Ultra smooth & creamy formula that glides on easily
- Waterproof, smudge-proof, sweat-proof, heat-proof, humidity-proof and scandal-proof
- Dermatologist & ophthalmologist tested. Safe for sensitive eyes.

What I say:
- Great colour pay-off and pigmentation with one swipe (see swatches)
- Super creamy formula for easy applicable, but not too soft that it gets messy
- Don't set too quickly, allowing colour to be blended for a softer, smoky effect
- Once set, liner is smudge-proof and water-proof (for application on lash line, see below for waterline/tight-line application). Setting time will increase with a thicker layer of product.
- "Dermatologist & ophthalmologist tested" means nothing when you don't know who the professional is and what their credentials are, but I do have sensitive eyes and I wear contact lenses and the eyeliners didn't cause any irritation (:

black: very dark black / matte finish
bronze: dark brown with gold shimmer / metallic finish
taupe: light neutral taupe / matte finish

swatched with three swipes for thicker line
rubbed vigorously after a minute to set / note_ thicker swatch had not set completely
water tested by rubbing vigorously under cold tap water
shower tested by rubbing vigorously with shower puff (with body wash) under warm water / note_ I was rubbing very hard and you can see my hand's a little bit red there. I could've rubbed it all off but I wanted to leave something to photograph

And..
- It's great for lazy days when all you have time for is eyeliner. Just apply some to your lash line and blend out with a dense pencil brush for an instant smokey eye that's not too dramatic.
- Great for the waterline and tight-line as well, however I did lose colour on my tight-light, at the outer corner of my eye throughout the day. It didn't smudge down my eye though, the colour just disappears..
- Still trying to hunt down the nude shade for use as an eye brighter in the tight-line.
- Blue and purple shades may be fun colours to try our if you're into coloured eyeliners.

Recommend for .. anyone who's in the market for a highly pigmented, creamy, super-blendable pencil eyeliner  which can you be used all around the eye and becomes waterproof when it sets.

REVIEW | Revlon Lip Butters & DUPES?!

Click on the image to watch the video!

Revlon Description:
| buttery balm with beautiful shiny colour
| hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture
| sheet to medium colour with a buttery shine
| pampering gel formula provides super charges hydration
| glides on lips buttery smooth
| available in 20 delicious shades

Packaging:
Pretty coloured packaging with a quilted pattern, which loosely resembles the colour of the lip product inside. There is a clear window at the top which allows you to see the colour inside. Black base with silver REVLON writing and silver tubing.

Scent:
There is a very slight vanilla scent and almost undetectable in some shades. Only noticeable when you stick it right up close to your nose.

Texture & Finish:
Smooth, creamy texture and glides nicely onto the lips. None of the shades feel grainy at all, not even the ones with shimmer. Although they have a 'balm' texture, the Lip Butters do not moisture the lips.

Pigmentation / Finish:
They provide very good and buildable pigmentation. The general trend is, the brighter the colour, the better the pigmentation. Please see swatches for reference. They give shiny finish, even the ones without obviously shimmer, without requiring an additional gloss on top.

Longevity:
These will last longer on my lips than a traditional tinted lip balm. The colour will fade throughout the day with talking and drinking liquids but won't completely disappear. The brighter, more pigmented colours act almost like a semi-stain. They won't last after a meal but didn't need retouching throughout the rest of the day.

Application:
Very easy application as they don't require a lip liner (although the brighter colours are so pigmented you almost feel like you should). Mistakes are easy to fix although I would recommend using a mirror with the brighter shades.
